Trainee responsibilities for assisting in all Building Surveying projects.
As a Trainee you will:
* Assist Building Surveyors in the delivery of building surveying services, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post-completion reviews.
* Assist Building Surveyors with the preparation of:
o Feasibility studies
o Cost plans
o Designs and detailed specifications
o Submissions for planning and building regulation approvals
o Tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes
* Assist building surveyors with:
o Administration of construction contracts
o Evaluating and reporting on tenders
o Undertaking surveys including condition surveys, DDA, Fire Risk Assessments, Schedules of Condition and Acquisition Surveys
o Preparing reports for customers
o Undertaking party wall surveyor duties
o Providing dilapidations advice and delivering dilapidations assessments and negotiating with other parties
o Undertaking quality monitoring roles of major construction projects
o Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks

About You
Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
As a Trainee, you will develop knowledge and experience in the following:
* Building surveying practices and procedures
* Contract administration procedures
* Compliance audits and surveys
* Managing contractor activities pre and post-construction
* Tendering
* Party wall matters
* Dilapidations
* Design procedures and controls
* Construction quality and monitoring
* Clear and effective communication skills – both oral and written
* Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes
* Sound problem-solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills
* Sound ICT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to work as part of a team
Qualifications
* GCSE, A-Levels, or other equivalent qualifications
