Our client is a prestigious primary education facility located within the centre of Fleetwood. The school features modern facilities, large areas for play, and various stimulating areas, from role play to a sensory den, physical play to a creative area. There are multiple playgrounds for children to mix, have fun, be creative, and make friends in a colorful and wondrous environment. The classrooms are spacious enough for every child to feel secure and free to perform activities and learn through fun in a well-kept setting. There are many other facilities such as art rooms, cookery pods, and technology rooms filled with teaching and learning equipment of the highest standard and quality. The school requires a qualified TA who will provide support to a lovely young girl requiring academic and social support who has Down syndrome, starting January 2025. The position will be long-term or day-to-day supply, depending on your availability. We require availability from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM in relation to regular school hours. The pay for this role will start at GBP 14 per hour and will be reviewed in line with AWR and when the minimum wage increases in April. The school requires someone who is outgoing, accountable, fun, and caring, with a passion to help others achieve and see progression in their academic and social achievements, and who isn't afraid to take initiative when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support pupils with their learning in 1:1 and small group settings.
2. Collaborate with the class teacher regarding targets and expectations.
3. Liaise with other professionals within the school, e.g., teachers, TAs, specialist support staff.
4. Support the monitoring and tracking of all pupils in line with the assessment procedures in school.
5. Assist the class teacher with IEPs.
Essential Requirements:
1. Must be an outgoing individual with the ability to engage with pupils to have fun while learning.
2. Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team.
3. An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
4. Must hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification as a TA.
Desirable Requirements:
1. Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
2. Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
