Unplanned Care – Staff Bank Senior Nurse (Band-6)
Are you a passionate and caring nurse with at least two years’ experience in community looking to progress and develop your clinical and leadership skills in a dynamic community nursing team? If so, then we would like to meet you.
We have vacancies for bank senior staff nurses within the Unplanned Care Team, which has an innovative approach to nursing care. It involves quick responses to patients in their home to assess, plan, manage and evaluate the presenting issue, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, and help to facilitate early hospital discharges. You will actively undertake clinical visits, support the clinical band-7 with daily leadership, support junior members of staff, and liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated applicant who is interested in meeting the challenge of working in the community with patients in their home setting. As part of the Unplanned care team, you will be working with a variety of disciplines within the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients. You’ll be working on a rotational basis as part of a seven-day service covering 24-hours-a-day with the support of agile technology to help you deliver timely, high-quality care.
The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and be confident and competent in the management of palliative care, wound care, and catheterization and catheter care, demonstrate leadership qualities, be able to support junior members of staff, implement high standards of patient care, and ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications
* NMC current registration
* Teaching/Assessor in clinical practice
* V100/V300 prescribing for nursing or equivalent.
Special knowledge / Experience / Competencies
* Ability to delegate work
* Demonstrates effective management and development of staff
* Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the District Nursing service.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook
* Previous experience of community health care (District Nursing)
* Understanding and/or experience of managing patients with long-term conditions
* Knowledge of diabetes management
* Knowledge of wound care and leg ulcer management
* Knowledge of SystmOne
