Our client is a leading custom innovation house specializing in the development and manufacturing of award-winning beauty products currently seeking a Director, IT to join the team.
Position: Full Time, Permanent - Hybrid
Location: Hybrid – Scarborough ON
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, IT ensures the seamless delivery of IT operations and leads the development and execution of the company's technology roadmaps. This role plays a key strategic and operational part in enabling business growth, ensuring security, and fostering innovation.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the CFO and senior management to develop and execute IT strategies and objectives aligned with the company’s business goals.
* Design and implement IT roadmaps encompassing people, processes, and technology to drive operational excellence and innovation.
* Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend solutions that enhance business processes and create efficiencies.
* Ensure robust service delivery models are implemented, monitored, and optimized for effectiveness and user satisfaction.
* Maintain oversight of IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and networks to ensure stability, efficiency, and security.
* Monitor and present key performance metrics, such as system uptime, project delivery timelines, and budget adherence, to leadership.
* Safeguard information assets through a “Security by Design” approach, ensuring cybersecurity controls are embedded across all systems.
* Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity.
* Research, design, and implement technological solutions that drive productivity, efficiency, and collaboration, including business intelligence and communication tools.
* Lead the adoption of cloud-based solutions, AI/ML, and advanced analytics where applicable to future-proof business operations and drive optimization.
* Partner with functional department leaders to collaborate on technology-enabled solutions that are scalable and cost-effective that address challenges and needs of their respective function.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
* Provide direct supervision to the IT team.
* Oversee scalable and reliable IT infrastructure and drive enterprise application development and optimization.
* Deliver exceptional end-user support and incident resolution.
* Build a diverse and inclusive culture that values teamwork and continuous learning.
* Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, including scope development, scheduling, resource allocation, execution, and lessons learned.
* Represent IT in all projects that impact any aspect of company technology.
* Partner with the CFO to manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology and services.
* Evaluate vendor proposals and manage contracts to ensure alignment with business requirements and financial objectives.
Skills, Experience and Education:
* 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in an IT management or leadership role.
* Demonstrated success in designing and executing IT strategies, roadmaps, and related systems/processes.
* Post-secondary degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) are highly desirable.
* Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud-based solutions, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
* Proven ability to assess and implement new technologies to meet evolving business needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
* Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering IT initiatives on time and within budget.
* Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to drive organizational change through technology.
