Job Description: Upper KS2 Teacher (Year 5) Position: UPKS2 Teacher Contract Type: Contract/Perm Contract Type: Part-time or full-time Salary: MPS Location: South Ockendon Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated KS2 Teacher to join one of our wonderful Primary schools in South Ockendon. As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing and supporting the development of children in year groups 5 & 6. This position requires a deep understanding of the KS2 curriculum framework, strong classroom management skills, and a passion for providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that align with the primary framework, fostering the holistic development of each child. Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. Design and set up engaging learning centres, ensuring a wide range of resources and materials are available to enhance child-led play and exploration. Assess and monitor each child's progress, keeping accurate records and providing regular feedback to parents/guardians on their child's development and achievements. Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians, involving them in their child's learning journey through effective communication and regular updates. Implement effective behaviour management strategies that encourage positive behaviour and promote a respectful and inclusive classroom community. Collaborate with other primary teachers and school staff to plan and implement a comprehensive and cohesive curriculum. Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child, providing appropriate support and challenges. Organize and participate in various activities, such as field trips, celebrations, and parent-teacher conferences. Stay updated with current educational trends and attend professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. Proven experience as an Primary Teacher (specifically as class teacher in either Year 5 or 6.) In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 2 Stage and framework, and its implementation. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues. Creativity and the ability to design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a temporary assignment through a recruitment agency. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in primary teaching practices. Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screening required by the recruitment agency and the school.
