We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time job to start in January 2022. This job will be supporting pupils with learning difficulties within a mainstream, Welsh medium Secondary School.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working to support pupils with learning difficulties within the mainstream classroom, across the key stages. You will be responsible for supporting the pupils to remain focused and engaged in completing learning tasks/activities. You will assist the pupils in working to routine and structure.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting the delivery of the National Curriculum to a high standard, including the delivery of numeracy and literacy interventions. You will support the pupils to develop a proactive attitude to learning, encouraging them to believe in their own potential, assisting them to build their confidence and self-esteem. You will support the pupils holistically, ensuring that they are developing in all aspects, socially and emotionally, as well as academically. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to develop an understanding of the pupils individually, capturing their interest and tailoring your support methods to ensure that the pupils feel confident in learning and that tasks are relevant to them.
In order to apply for this role, you will need:
* To be fluent in all aspects of the Welsh language
* Relevant and proven experience of working with pupils within a similar environment
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships
* To be approachable so as to ensure that the pupil feels that they can ask you for support where needed
* Good organisational skills
* A genuine desire to support and enhance the pupils' educational experience.
