The role This role exists to help Bupa realise its strategic ambitions by leading the evolution and implementation of learning solutions across BG&UKI. The role holder will be responsible for forging strong partnerships with various business areas, ensuring that their learning needs are met in a manner that aligns with the needs of their people, customers, and commercial objectives, both now and in the future. The role is at the forefront of transforming learning methodologies towards a digital-first approach, including ‘Learning in the Flow of Work’ and ‘Learning at the Point of Need’. The role holder will lead a diverse team of in-house Learning Consultants and Associates, both directly and on a matrix basis, ensuring their development and the flexible allocation of resources This role is not just about managing learning and development, but about leading the charge towards a future where learning is integrated, impactful, and drives the strategic ambitions of Bupa. You’ll help us make health happen by Partner with Business areas: Collaborate with various business areas to understand and meet their learning needs effectively and efficiently. Resource Provision: Provide high-quality resources that drive business outcomes across multiple business areas. Digital Learning: Oversee the transition from traditional course facilitation to digital resources. Influence Stakeholders: Influence stakeholders and the learning community to accelerate the adoption of digital learning resources. Promote Learning: Increase the use of ‘Learning in the Flow of Work’ and ‘Learning at the Point of Need’ to drive productivity and deliver exceptional learning experiences. Ensure Quality: Ensure that the learning provided aligns with the organisation’s strategic objectives and maintains the highest quality standards. Team Leadership: Manage & coach learning leads and learning consultants, directly and on a matrix basis, offering guidance and expertise across the learning cycle, providing feedback on the effectiveness & quality of their work, and agreeing development plans in line with the talent management approach Manage Relationships: Manage relationships with outsourced business areas and external L&D providers. Data Utilisation: Leverage data to evaluate the success of L&D initiatives and identify areas for improvement. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role Ability to work at a strategic level, combined with a pragmatic approach based on personal experience of delivering skills solutions in a fast- moving, operational environment. Practical experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating learning Deep specialist expertise in skills development programmes and adult learning Commercially astute with good data analytical skills Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills at all levels, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and gain commitment to strategic change/new ways of working Ability to ensure that all programmes have robust reporting. Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, department heads, and the People team, to align leadership and other learning initiatives with organisational goals. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously. High degree of customer focus/service and able to build trusting professional relationships. Ability to multitask and prioritise workload, producing high-quality work by required deadlines.
