We are currently seeking a talented and highly motivated Geo-environmental Consultant to join our Geo-environmental team based in our Bristol office. As a member of our team within the Energy, Water & Environment Business Unit, you will undertake site and office-based work supporting UK-wide delivery of brownfield regeneration schemes for a range of public and private sector clients.
The key focus for this position will be to provide your specialist input to a broad range of projects with responsibilities to include the preparation of technical proposals, factual and interpretative report writing, site investigation design, site supervision (including post works ground gas/groundwater monitoring), undertaking both qualitative and (with support) quantitative contaminated land risk assessments, and liaison with internal/external clients and sub-contractors.
You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the design and delivery of remediation and verification schemes, materials management plans, and waste assessment and characterisation. Sweco projects span a variety of clients/former land uses with key technical experts/mentors within our various UK-wide teams to support your continued development and career aspirations.
To be successful in this role, you’ll possess a science-based degree in a relevant subject such as Geology, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Studies. A Master's degree would be beneficial but isn't essential. You will, however, have some previous experience in site investigations for contaminated land as well as soil logging to BS 5930:2015+A1-2020, along with an understanding of the application and implementation of various ground investigation techniques.
We are looking for someone who has good problem-solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative, and practical solutions for our clients.
If you believe you have the skill set required and are keen to join a business with genuine opportunities for career progression, then we’d love to hear from you.
