About the role
The Group BI and Reporting Manager role will focus on the delivery of best practice data modelling solutions for use in BI visualisation tools such as Cognos and Power BI. They will work directly with stakeholders and team members to define, design, and deliver shared data model components - in support of actionable insights across the Group.

Analytics Requirements Gathering & Supporting Responsibilities
1. Evaluate analytics/BI requirements arising from stakeholders for solutioning.
2. Appraise the requirements against agreed business priorities with the relevant functional analysts.
3. Champion data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the Group – by working closely and pro-actively supporting the data steward to administer agreed policy and deploy remedial actions.
4. Advocate and promote self-service BI and visual discovery - while helping to change Excel based culture.
5. Support the development of business cases for the department to get buy-in from senior management for analytics initiatives.
6. Support the senior analytics lead to implement agreed BI roadmap.
Data Management for Data Warehousing Responsibilities
1. Define and formulate criteria for selecting relevant data sources to include in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
2. Transform raw data into uniform and logical information appropriate for use within Visualisation BI tools. This includes component for data integration and data cleansing.
3. Develop relevant dimensional data models - based on specified business rules that conform to agreed business objectives and predefined architectural guidelines.
4. Develop relevant history tracking objects to support slow-changing dimensions in support of agreed use cases.
5. Manage structured and unstructured data and address data quality and granulation challenges arising from differences in source application systems.
6. Formulate and recommend standards for achieving acceptable performance and efficiency of the EDW.
7. Participate in the planning for retirement of legacy analytics systems and migration of systems infrastructure.
Data Management for Data Modelling and Visualization Responsibilities
1. Design and develop reporting packages to support BI visualisations tools. E.g., use of IBM Framework Model to create packages to support report development in Cognos.
2. Ensure that packages are compliant with agreed security and access control policies.
3. Ensure the ongoing maintenance of the packages to align to technology and business changes.
4. Support for self-serve BI developers to overcome analytics development challenges.
5. Develop analytics visualisation for functional areas where self-serve BI is not currently possible.
