Job Details: Job Reference: HCC619800 Salary Range: £24,027- £24,348 per annum Work Location: Lepe Country Park, Southampton Hours per week: 37 Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months Closing Date: 14 March 2025 The Role: Your work, as Visitor Services Assistant will be on the front line of our park, welcoming visitors and providing them with an experience that will inspire them to return to the Park again and again. Lepe Country Park is one of Hampshire County Council's most popular visitor attractions hosting around 400,000 visits each year. The site has a full programme of events for the public, welcomes school visits and has a very successful Friends group which provides many volunteers to assist park staff. The Country Park has a modern café ‘The Lookout’ which has panoramic sea views. The role will be varied and much of it will be people facing; working with the Visitor Services team and wider team to ensure visitors get the most out of their visit to Lepe. You will take the lead on managing the front desk, connecting visitors with what's on at the park and linking up to the wider New Forest activities. Communication will be key to this role from face to face contact with visitors, to the telephone and online including via email, the website & social media. There are also key administrative tasks that will need to be completed within this role to ensure the smooth running of the business and to support excellent visitor experiences. You will assist with the creation and running of events and assist with bookings. This role will also involve working in the site café, ‘The Lookout’, where you will work alongside the catering team, delivering food to tables, clearing and cleaning tables and taking orders. You will have relevant experience in a similar role working with the public; and excellent communication skills. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes is required and knowledge of the local community and environment will be a considerable advantage. Finally, you will be enthusiastic, inspiring and flexible, able to work within a small team and on your own initiative, and work regular weekends.
