This role involves driving the Retail Van in order to help with the rotation of stock between our eight shops and the distribution unit. Occasionally, you may be asked to get involved in driving collections from donor’s homes or businesses following instruction from the Stock and Distribution Manager.
This role is an essential part of the retail section of the charity in order to maximise sales by ensuring that the stock is in the right place to meet the shop’s requirements.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivering and collecting stock and rotating between shops and the storage unit.
2. Collecting donations from local and corporate supporters.
3. Loading and unloading of stock.
4. Refuelling the van.
5. Basic checks of the van.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Full, clean driving licence.
2. Physically fit and able to move stock and heavy goods.
3. Good communication skills and ability to get on with people.
4. To be reactive and flexible within the working day would be helpful.
This role requires a regular commitment of 4-8 hours per week – depending on availability and requirements. Thursdays and Fridays are our urgent need currently.
