Role: Conference and Event Assistant (C & E Assistant) - Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week – will include occasional weekend working
You’ll be using your tech-savvy skills setting up rooms ready for client business meetings and events. The events may include business meetings, weddings, afternoon teas, conferences, gala dinners, Christmas parties, proms, or even wakes. You'll play a key role in ensuring our guests and clients have the best possible event experience.
In a typical day, you might:
1. Prepare conference/training rooms to customer specifications.
2. Ensure that all equipment is maintained in operational order and properly stored.
3. Assist and advise clients on the effective use of technical facilities.
4. Support the setup and delivery of banqueting and events at Moor Hall.
5. Maintain excellent relationships with customers and suppliers.
6. Meet and greet delegates in the meeting room and be the point of contact throughout the day.
7. Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction every step of the way.
For this role, you’ll need:
1. Knowledge of all types of presentation media.
2. Knowledge of meeting room setups and breakout areas.
3. Experience in setting up and delivering events, banqueting, and private parties.
4. Physical fitness as this role requires some manual lifting of equipment and furniture.
5. Tact, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and the ability to present a calm and professional manner.
6. Able to communicate effectively with customers from all walks of life.
7. Ability to translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
