We are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team on a 6-month freelance contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence across multiple facilities.
About the Role
The EHS Specialist will support our Hampshire-based operations, which include Research and Development (RD), manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and office environments. This role is crucial in overseeing the EHS compliance of 16 sites, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and sustainability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Compliance: Review and assess health and safety compliance across sites, identifying risks, and implementing practical solutions.
* Policy Implementation: Update, implement, and enforce both global and local EHS policies and procedures.
* Training Development: Design and deliver EHS training to staff, enhancing awareness and adherence to safety standards.
* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve compliance issues with a pragmatic, solutions-driven approach.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
* Membership or progression towards IOSH or IEMA accreditation.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, logistics, or laboratory settings.
* Experience with asbestos, lifting operations, or foundational safety practices.
* A valid driving license for multi-site work.
Salary:
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
