JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: INSTALLATION ENGINEER
REPORTING TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER
ROLE: The Installation Engineer (IE) will be part of a team which will perform the duties to install Security Systems at customers' premises. This role requires initiative and autonomy, with flexibility essential in adapting to future changes within the company and fluctuations in workload.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Allocate projects by the Project Manager (PM).
2. Plan, schedule, install, and handover projects with the PM.
3. Review site files and contract conditions with the PM, ensuring equipment constitutes a working system in liaison with the Salesman and customer.
4. Notify customers and Salesperson of any changes to the predetermined program of works and delivery schedule.
5. Inform customers promptly of the arranged program if no previous agreement exists.
6. Highlight any issues that may affect project profitability to the PM.
7. Monitor work progress and advise the PM of changes through regular Project Reviews.
8. Complete relevant commissioning and completion certificates, with assistance from a Senior Engineer if required.
9. Advise the PM immediately if difficulties arise or if the program is not on schedule, especially concerning Liquidated Damages.
10. Ensure all applicable documentation is provided in a suitable format at the time of handover to the customer.
11. Arrange client or end-user training on system usage, which may include basic training or coordination with another department.
12. Liaise with the Service Department to hand over each installation and inform them of important system information and features.
13. Provide feedback on encountered problems and highlight successful installations to prevent reoccurrence.
14. Monitor and assist any Junior Engineers under their responsibility in the progression of their roles.
15. Inform the PM of Junior Engineers' exceptional performance or areas for improvement, with specific attention to timekeeping.
Expenses Sheets: Complete daily and submit by the 20th of each month to the Projects Administrator, supported by valid VAT receipts where applicable.
Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the vehicle provided in accordance with the Vehicle Operating Rules and keep it clean inside and out.
Mobile Telephone: Ensure the telephone is in full working order, carry out necessary repairs quickly, and keep it charged and ready for work.
Professional Conduct: Dress professionally, carry identification at all times, and comply with BS EN ISO9001, NACOSS procedures, and all company GDPR and ISO27001 obligations.
Carry out any reasonable requests from management.
