Position: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias)
Location: North Yorkshire
Shift Pattern: Week 1 - Mon to Friday 06:00 to 15:30, Week 2 - Mon to Thurs 09:30 to 20:00, Fridays 09:30 to 15:00
Salary: £52K + overtime + bonus + pension + Private Healthcare, Life assurance scheme
Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias, to work on-site for a client based in North Yorkshire.
Role Purpose: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the purpose of the role is to maintain reliable operation of the plant. The job function is to carry out multi-skilled Maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out a range of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance as required.
2. Drive improvements in maintenance methods and techniques in keeping with known standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
3. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and problem analysis.
4. Work closely with the production team to ensure daily goals are achieved.
5. Ensure that the equipment is set optimally and that the IT interfaces are functional.
6. Assist the Engineering Manager in supervision of external contractors.
Requirements:
1. A thorough understanding of EHS and a safety culture.
2. Post apprenticeship experience.
3. Electro-Mechanical fault finding/repairs to PLC controlled plant, including pneumatic and hydraulics.
4. Interaction with vendors to complete day-to-day tasks.
5. Familiarity with safe systems of work (Permit to Work systems).
6. Experience carrying out preventative maintenance tasks.
7. Some working at heights will be required.
8. Ability to develop and conduct training for operators.
9. Ability to organise, coordinate, and accomplish multiple tasks.
10. Strong communication and organisational skills, able to provide detailed shift reports.
11. Experience of working as part of a maintenance team on a manufacturing site.
12. Demonstrated effective systematic problem-solving skills.
13. Must have a high drive and energy level, can-do attitude, and excellent attention to detail.
14. Ability to work autonomously and react quickly in high-pressure situations.
15. Self-motivated, able to work independently.
16. Be flexible and adjust shifts to cover other engineers' holidays.
17. Prepared to participate in training and development.
18. Ensure all planned and routine maintenance are carried out and documented on the CMMS.
19. Technical school higher qualification (NVQ) or Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge with relevant hands-on experience.
20. Electrical qualification.
