About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN (Special Educational Needs) Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent or soon-to-be graduate who is passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs.
As a Primary SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of learning, social, or emotional needs, providing tailored support to ensure they thrive academically and personally. You will assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, offering one-on-one or small group support, and helping to create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small group support to students with special educational needs.
Assist with the delivery of tailored lesson plans, helping students engage with the curriculum.
Support students with tasks that improve their academic and social development.
Monitor and track student progress, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes.
Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students' needs.
Work alongside the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement personalised strategies for students.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree (of any kind) - candidates must either be nearing completion of their degree or have already graduated.
Ideally, experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
A willingness to learn and adapt to the specific needs of the children in your care.
