Customer Technical Manager / Fresh Produce / Herts
Up to £60k plus package (2 days RW offered)
Are you passionate about food safety, quality, and sustainability? We are recruiting a Customer Technical Manager to provide dedicated technical service to both internal and external customers, ensuring product quality and compliance with customer standards. You will play a key role in managing relationships with M&S, Ocado, and other customers while supporting the business with technical innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage customer technical development to drive growth and competitive advantage.
* Ensure product safety, legality, and quality to protect the business and customer requirements.
* Lead innovation, quality improvement projects, and new product development (NPD).
* Be the main point of contact for customer teams, hosting visits and supplier visits.
* Maintain accurate customer specifications and communicate technical policies to internal teams and suppliers.
* Support the technical agenda in line with business objectives.
* Use data to monitor performance and ensure the business is meeting "fit to supply" standards.
* Optimise systems and processes to create a more efficient, cost-effective business.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in managing product quality, food safety, and compliance.
* Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in produce or prepared produce.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Formal qualification in food science or agronomy preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
