We are currently looking for a diligent and analytical procurement professional to join our dynamic procurement team as a Senior Buyer. In this role, which reports to the Procurement Manager, you will oversee the daily procurement of traded goods and services to ensure efficient supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the procurement and supply of all acquired goods and services
* Negotiate improved supplier terms and pricing with a broad supplier base
* Conduct market research and report on price fluctuations and changes in offered terms
* Manage supplier relationships, address quality and supply issues, and establish successful supply chain partnerships
* Identify and evaluate new supply options for current and future purchasing needs
* Complete internal supplier approval processes to ensure compliance with business standards and updated certification and records
* Organise and participate in supplier meetings to analyse and discuss supplier performance and gain insight into the full range of products and services offered
* Maintain regular communication with the Production and Stock Teams to verify the weekly production schedule based on customer requirements and available material stocks
* Analyse internal purchasing processes and recommend improvements
* Travel to supplier’s premises in the UK and overseas as necessary
Desired Education & Qualification
* MCIPS qualification or active CIPS studying is preferred but not mandatory; qualification through experience is equally desirable
Work Experience
* Previous experience in a Buyer or related role within a manufacturing environment
* Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations
* Ability to demonstrate continuous improvement through purchasing processes
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Accomplished communication skills with experience discussing finances, budgets and costs
* Ability to use various tools and resources to track global commodities with a solid understanding of complex supply chains
* Ability to digest and process vast amounts of information to make sound commercial decisions

* Strong literacy and numeracy
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficient IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy
