Job overview
An exciting opportunity to work as the Service Manager role for General Surgery within the GS-ACT division. We are looking for an effective leader with proven delivery experience in a fast paced environment who will approach this interesting and varied position with energy and enthusiasm.
The service has achieved exceptional outcomes and has demonstrated drive, passion, and enthusiasm to bring down patient waiting times, streamlining and redesigning clinical pathways. The Bariatric team were one of the first services to lead the way with Hit Lists and Super Clinics and this year won the Trust's Staff Award in Innovation and Improvement.
Main duties of the job
Full operational management of the clinical services, which includes performance against internal and national KPIs, clinical governance, financial management, service development, and staff management.

Qualifications and Training
* Educated to Post Grad Diploma or Masters level and/or equivalent experience
* Project Management and CPD
Experience
* Management Experience in the Acute Sector
* Operational Management of a service and team
* National Performance metrics knowledge - RTT / Cancer
* Experience of implementing service change for improvement / quality / cost
Skills
* Full range of IT skills, including data analysis and packages
* Evidence of report writing and presenting skills including Business cases, clinical strategy
* Excellent communication, verbal and written. Ability to influence decision making with senior clinical staff
Other
* Able to demonstrate honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness
* Ability to travel between trust sites
* Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the team, service, and trust
