Job Description
As our new Safety Manager, you'll lead Safety, Emergency Management, and Security to ensure compliance with legislative and corporate standards. You'll drive HSE excellence, collaborate with teams, and enhance safety practices. Key responsibilities include:
* Lead Safety management and supporting environmental aspects on site.
* Develop and implement the Safety strategy for the Site, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement the Safety strategy for compliance and improvement.
* Maintain foresight on legal and corporate initiatives.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to protect the site’s license.
* Monitor service agreements to meet site needs cost-effectively.
* Ensure KPI, monitoring, and reporting processes comply with requirements.
* Collaborate on incident investigations, audits, and statistics.
* Deliver training to enhance safety understanding in site operations.
Qualifications
* Degree or similar qualification in a relevant subject.
* NEBOSH Diploma.
* Knowledge of external HSE legislation.
* Technical knowledge and practical understanding of HSE hazards in chemical manufacturing.
* Experience in a manufacturing, technical support, or HSE operational role.
* Proven proactive track record in HSE within manufacturing Safety.
* Strong expertise in Safety issues, legislation, and renewable energy sources.
* Proven experience managing external stakeholders, including communities and authorities.
* Technical expertise in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
* Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives.
* Competencies in other HSE management areas are advantageous.

Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre is one of our two award-winning manufacturing sites in the UK. The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.
At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and one finished product formulation and packaging plant with the most recent facility opening in May 2010.
