Engineering Support Operative (Trainee Engineer)

Responsibilities
Make an impact as an ESO (Trainee Engineer) at GXO, East Midlands Gateway. This role involves working rotating 12-hour days and nights. Salary is dependent on experience, plus excellent company benefits, including private health care and a company contributory pension scheme.
1. Supporting our Resident Site Engineers, carrying out Electrical / Mechanical breakdown and planned preventative maintenance on a variety of automated machinery.
2. You will support engineering tasks under supervision and will be expected to perform basic tool level reactive/preventative repairs.
3. The successful candidate will be the first line of contact when faults occur and be responsible for reporting these and then escalating the issue to the appropriate person in the engineering team.
4. You will provide support to the engineers as well as reporting defects, whilst offering suggestions for product improvement.
5. The Engineering Support Operative will contribute to product knowledge and help make future technical support easier.
Application Requirements
What you need to succeed:
1. You will have a good level of competence in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
2. An Apprentice trained Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, with a minimum NVQ Level 2 Qualification.
3. This is a customer facing role, so you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
4. Able to adapt to new and changing demands and situations.
5. Able to share knowledge with others.
6. The ideal candidate will be willing to work at height and is able to climb a 30 metre vertical ladder (with WAH training).
