Provide supervision and coordination of all day to day rigging operations in accordance with procedures and in a safe manner. Ensuring that all the maintenance of rigging and plant is performed in a timely manner in accordance with PUWER and LOLER regulations. Supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in erecting and operating machines to hoist and convey machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate with Yard Management and construction departments to ensure all scaffolding work is carried out per schedules and avoid rework.
* Ensure correct maintenance of yard plant and equipment.
* Organisation and supervision of rigging loft.
* Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in all rigging and lifting activities, to ensure compliance with safety procedures and method statements.
* Direct crane operators to move equipment to and from work/laydown areas.
* Ensure work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials for scaffolding and rigging activities.
* Monitor and prevent the misuse of equipment, materials and tools.
* Ensure correct tagging and inspection of scaffolding and lifting equipment in accordance with applicable regulations.
* Be familiar with and enforce strict compliance with all safety procedures, including all company rules and regulations.
* Assist with loading/offloading of incoming and outgoing materials.
* Assist the stores person with a variety of tasks if capacity allows and required by business needs.
* Hold a full driving licence.
* Ability to work under own initiative and function well as part of a team.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and co-workers.
* Diligent attention to detail and attention to safety.
* CPCS Crane Supervisor A62.
* CITB Certification Level 2 in Scaffolding.
* Good knowledge of the scaffolding arrangement.
* Good leadership skills to handle multi-disciplinary functions.
