Main Purpose of Job:
The Senior Operator is responsible for driving shift operation as part of a team involved in the pre-treatment process in the production of Bio Diesel. This role involves deputising as team leader and mentoring operators, ensuring plant safety, maintaining process efficiency, and troubleshooting operational issues. The Senior Operator will work closely with other departments, such as maintenance, tank operations to optimise plant performance while adhering to environmental, health, and safety standards.
This is a shift role, following a shift pattern of 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts, followed by 6 days off.
What you will be doing:
* Working as part of a shift to drive the safe, efficient plant production ensuring KPI targets are met.
* Driving SHEQ compliance by driving high standards for housekeeping, and issues or events raised are recorded on the Argent SHE app and actioned in Ultimo.
* Deputising for Team Leader.
* Working with Team Leader to troubleshoot operational issues and resolve them promptly, coordinating with other departments as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including logs, shift reports, detailed verbal and written handovers and incident reports.
* Provide on the job training to operator.
* Ensuring all preventative maintenance is carried out on plant equipment according to the predefined schedule and apply safe systems of work.
What you will need to be successful:
* Strong understanding of pre-treatment/chemical process operations, control systems, and troubleshooting techniques. (essential)
* Familiarity with process equipment (pumps, compressors, reactors, heat exchangers, etc.) and their operation. (essential)
* Experience managing the Safe System of Work (essential)
* Understanding of SHE legislation (essential)

Specific experience and qualifications required:
* Relevant certifications or technical training in process operations or safety.
* 3-5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or processing, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
