Fabric Maintenance Engineer
Location: Queensgate Shopping Centre - Peterborough
Core Hours: 08:00am - 18:00pm
Shift pattern on rotation:
5 days On - 3 days off x 4
4 days on - 4 days off x 3
An exciting opportunity to join our team as a Fabric Maintenance Engineer at Queensgate Shopping Centre! The main purpose of the position will be to carry out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with the company's PPM and task schedules.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. General Carpentry
2. Fire door maintenance and repair
3. Weekly fire alarm testing
4. Weekly tap flushing
5. AHU Cleaning & Servicing
6. Basic plumbing and drainage repairs
7. Patch repairs to wall and floor tiling, carpets, lino & screeds
8. Suspended ceiling repairs
9. Shelving/racking
10. Lock changes/repairs
11. Painting & Decorating
12. Working hours as part of the site's shift pattern
13. Undertake PPM activity in a quality, professional manner
14. Production of technical and situational reports as required
15. Proactively use the technology systems given to you so that the Company can always be compliant with its contractual obligations
16. Carry out the works always requested in a professional and proactive manner
17. To always communicate clearly and effectively with the rest of the team and clients
18. Provide first line out of hours call out for the site
19. Writing activity reports in line with Company procedures accurately and timely
20. Proactively assisting the management team to produce quotations by giving accurate and good quality information where extra works are identified
21. Attending team meetings/briefings as requested
22. To provide accurate time sheet information weekly and on time
23. To ensure that the Company is always presented in a good light
24. Undertake reactive maintenance works as directed by the Help Desk and/or management team
25. To escalate any major site issues or incidents to your line manager asap once noticed
26. To manage Integral sub-contractors whilst working on site
27. Understand and be aware of the requirements of all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation and be equally aware of their own roles and responsibilities within the Company
28. Ensure that all materials and equipment are handled, stored, and used with due regard to the relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
29. Actively participate in the health and safety processes required under the Company policies and procedures on portfolio including, but not limited to, accident investigation, reporting, risk assessments and auditing
30. Any other reasonable instruction from the Contract Manager or his Line Managers
31. Co-operating with the company to allow it to fulfil its moral and legal duties and obligations
(Additional training will be provided as necessary)
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. Fabric Engineer apprenticeship/ Carpentry & Joinery qualifications
2. Proven post apprenticeship practical experience
3. Good communication & interpersonal skills
4. Commitment to providing a high-quality service to our customer
5. Willing to work flexibly and as a team member
6. Ability to work overtime as required
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff
8. Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation
9. Have good IT and report writing skills
10. Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints
