Our client is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creators with an established YouTube presence. Their mission is to turn creators into global media businesses by building teams, scaling the production and distribution of their content and introducing new revenue streams across platforms. They have raised multiple funding rounds and have existing revenue streams.
About the role
As Director of Commercial Management, you will drive monetisation strategies across companies channels, beyond traditional brand partnerships. You’ll focus on identifying and securing licensing, IP, and other commercial opportunities while fostering strong relationships with media agencies, publishers, and creators. This role is pivotal in helping to expand its revenue streams, scale its content offerings, and position itself as a leader in the digital media industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute an effective growth strategy for the agency, focusing on both increasing revenue and audience/reach.
* Build and maintain partnerships with media agencies, publisher agencies, and other stakeholders to unlock new opportunities for their YouTube channels.
* Drive revenue from subscriber growth, views, and other instant income sources, while identifying long-term commercial opportunities.
* Expand their focus on licensing and IP development, including books, podcasts, merchandise, and more, to create sustainable revenue streams.
* Stay ahead of industry trends to identify gaps and opportunities in a competitive media landscape.
* Be an ambassador for the agency, promoting their work at networking events and client meetings.
Skills and experience
* Highly experienced in media sales, agency sales, or commercial development roles, ideally within a digital media agency, publisher agency, or related environment.
* Strong connections with media and publisher agencies, as well as experience managing partnerships with brands and creators.
* Proven track record in licensing, IP development, and driving non-traditional revenue streams.
* Ability to analyze market trends, identify new opportunities, and deliver creative, actionable solutions.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of building and maintaining strong relationships with creators, agencies, and stakeholders.
* A deep understanding of the content creation ecosystem and the challenges and opportunities within it.
