Anderson Knight is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager for one of our clients based in Ayrshire.
As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring that the procurement, manufacturing, and distribution processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively. You will work closely with multiple departments, vendors, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, manage inventory levels, and reduce lead times, all while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supply Chain Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimise costs, reduce lead times, and ensure on-time delivery of products.
* Procurement Management: Oversee the sourcing of raw materials and components, negotiate with suppliers, and manage vendor relationships to ensure high quality and competitive pricing.
* Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and implement best practices to manage stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure availability of materials for production.
* Logistics Coordination: Ensure efficient coordination of inbound and outbound logistics, managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution to meet production and customer requirements.
* Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve supply chain processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, sales, and finance teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives and customer demands.
* Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and company policies. Provide regular performance reports and KPIs to senior management.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
* Proven experience (5+ years) in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions to optimise supply chain operations.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
