Owen Daniels have partnered with Polytec in Telford as they look to appoint a Head of Operations who will take responsibility for the Manufacturing and Production function across the UK, including people and budgetary management and implementing strategic manufacturing operational goals. Polytec is a Tier 1 Automotive supplier of high-quality exterior plastic components, supplying into some of the biggest names in the Automotive industry.

As Head of Operations, you will manage the UK Manufacturing and Production, overseeing people, budgets, and operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals. Drive efficiency, ensure safety compliance, lead teams, and foster stakeholder collaboration while focusing on continuous improvement and sustainability.
Job Description
1. Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities across the business.
2. Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
3. Lead, develop, and implement variable cost productivity programmes across all areas of responsibility.
4. Implement a customer-focused operational culture delivering world-class customer service levels.
5. Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor, and develop direct reports to manage a high-performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value, and cost reductions.
6. Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance.
7. Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets.
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
1. Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing leadership delivering effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes, and systems.
2. Previous experience of working within a high volume, automotive manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
3. Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components, and manufacturing techniques.
4. Proven track record of developing teams and leading organisational and process improvement.
