Projects Lawyer (Commercial)
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – Minimum 2 Days in Office)
Salary: £49,300 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Projects Lawyer to join a dynamic public sector legal team based in Leeds. This role involves advising on major infrastructure, construction, regeneration, and transport schemes, as well as commercial and contract law. The successful candidate will benefit from agile working arrangements, with a newly refurbished office just two minutes from Leeds train station.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality legal advice on complex infrastructure, regeneration, and transport projects
* Draft and negotiate high-value commercial contracts, funding agreements, and loan documentation
* Advise on contract disputes, subsidy control, competition law, and intellectual property issues
* Work closely with key stakeholders, local authorities, and external partners to ensure project success
* Conduct legal research, draft reports, and provide training to colleagues and project managers
* Play a key role in managing legal risks and ensuring compliance with public sector regulations
About You:
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant post-qualification experience
* Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement, and commercial agreements
* Experience advising on large-scale public sector projects
* Ability to negotiate complex agreements and provide strategic legal advice
* Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners
