THE ROLE
* You will support a team of 9 finance staff, taking responsibility for planning and monitoring workload to ensure all client services are delivered on time.
* You will liaise with colleagues within the wider team and firm to coordinate work and solve any problems that arise.
* You will support the well-being of the team and assist with more complex client queries or requests.
* Developing people is an integral part of this position, along with providing on-the-job training and assisting in the professional development of colleagues.
* From your direct contact with clients, you will maintain and build relationships to deliver a service that exceeds clients’ expectations.
* You will be required to prepare VAT files and returns, including month-end control account reconciliations, and review work of others within the team.
* The role involves oral and written communication with clients and third parties such as HMRC.
ABOUT YOU
* Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within either a busy finance department or an accounting practice.
* You will have some prior team leader/supervisory experience, including scheduling workload in a rapidly changing environment.
* You will have a good knowledge of month-end procedures, including control account reconciliations and VAT return preparation and submission.
* You will be committed to delivering a first-class service to clients and colleagues alike.
* You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
* You will have excellent IT skills and a proven ability to retain knowledge in relation to software.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
* You will be adaptable and organized, with a commercial approach to tasks.

This is a full-time, temporary opportunity based in our Dunfermline office.
