Regional Director
Location: Midlands/North of the UK
This is a remote role, but the Regional Director will need to be able to visit the services at least weekly, so it’s best they are located in North/ Midlands.
Salary circa - £120k plus benefits.
As a Regional Director, you will be reporting to the CEO, you will hold accountability for the leadership, growth, and performance of health and care services across your designated regions. This role requires overseeing the operational and strategic delivery of services in alignment with local health system priorities, Integrated Care solutions, and national healthcare objectives.
You will provide leadership across multiple services and teams, ensuring high-quality care is consistently delivered, while driving efficiency, continuous improvement, and innovation. Your role will involve representing one of the UK’s largest community services providers at the Integrated Care Board (ICB) level, ensuring alignment with regional health commissioners, Local Authorities, and other system partners to improve health outcomes and tackle health inequalities.
Key Responsibilities of Regional Director:
* Develop and implement regional strategies aligned with ICS, ICB priorities, and national healthcare objectives.
* Lead system-wide transformation initiatives and service integration.
* Oversee operational performance of multiple business units, ensuring regulatory compliance and high service standards.
* Drive continuous improvement in service efficiency, patient outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
* Identify and lead opportunities for service expansion, new contracts, and business growth.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including commissioners and local authorities.
* Manage the region's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
* Lead, coach, and develop senior leadership teams across the region.
* Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and lead efforts to improve service quality and patient safety.
* Implement and monitor effective governance frameworks and risk management processes.
* Represent the company in strategic forums, advocating for the organisation’s services and priorities.
* Lead and manage significant change initiatives to improve service delivery and operational performance.
* Monitor and manage risks across the region, ensuring services remain compliant with regulations.
* Provide regular performance updates and reports to senior leadership.
* Ensure effective communication and alignment between senior leadership and operational teams.
* Represent the organisation in public and community engagement activities to promote the organisation’s reputation.
Personal Specification:
Essential:
* Senior leadership experience in healthcare or related public services.
* Proven ability to deliver strategic plans aligned with NHS/ICB priorities.
* Strong operational, financial, and performance management skills.
* Experience leading service transformation and integration.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement at ICS/ICB/Local Authority level.
* Track record of driving quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
* Strong leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and workforce planning.
* Experience managing governance, risk, and regulatory standards.
* Excellent communication and public representation skills.
Desirable:
* Experience in community health, primary care, or public health.
* Background in business development and contract growth.
* Knowledge of digital innovation in health and care services.
* Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, MSc).
* Experience in public/community engagement.
