EHS Global Operations Compliance Manager
Job Summary
The primary goal of Global Operations Compliance is to align with Equinix's mission, vision, and strategic objectives by integrating them into our management systems. This is achieved through the establishment of a robust, quantifiable, and demonstrable internal control framework that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and corporate policies across all geographic regions. Additionally, we strive to promote uniform adherence to all Equinix compliance standards on a global scale. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as an Operations Compliance Manager - Environment Health and Safety (EHS). You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety performance, compliance, and risk management across Operations.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and risk reduction within Operations.
2. Stay current with evolving EHS regulations and standards, adapting policies and practices as necessary.
3. Assist with the development and implementation of global EHS policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
4. Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs.
5. Provide support with customer audits, customer presentations, and Request-for-Information (RFIs).
6. Monitor and report on EHS metrics, incidents, and trends to senior leadership.
7. Conduct regular audits to identify and address potential EHS risks and non-compliance issues.
8. Review EHS incidents and conduct independent investigations of any serious incidents, managing remedial actions at regional/global level if required.
9. Work with the team to ensure our certifications to ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO50001.
10. Ability to work with internal projects/safety campaigns.
11. Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in EHS related subject or Engineering.
2. Qualified in safety to national country level.
3. Certified Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor in ISO14001 or ISO45001 required.
4. Excellent communication, planning, and collaboration skills.
5. Knowledge level of EHS and regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements as related to data center operations.
6. Ability to sort through complex technical issues and implement innovative solutions to resolve difficult problems.
7. Proactive with good analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
8. Excellent writing and presentation skills; experience developing policies and procedures is desirable.
9. Resilient, agile, decisive, and culturally aware; ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities.
10. Must be able to travel internationally, up to 25%.
