With an expanding client base and project pipeline, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Designer to join our well-established team in East Anglia. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside the Technical Director, leading the design and engineering aspects of our commercial and utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the development, design, and execution of renewable energy projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Design team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication across departments. Oversee the entire design process, from initial concept to construction, in partnership with the Technical Director. Develop and optimise solar PV system designs that maximise energy generation while maintaining cost efficiency and sustainability. Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Consultancy teams, as well as external partners, to seamlessly integrate solar PV projects into existing infrastructure and grid networks. Review and validate design documentation, including layout drawings, electrical diagrams, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality components and materials, balancing cost control without compromising quality. Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in solar design, integrating innovative solutions where applicable. About You Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Masters degree is a advantageous). 2 years of experience designing commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects, including system layout, electrical design, and equipment selection advantageous Strong knowledge of solar PV technologies, grid integration, and regulations in the UK. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PVsol, and other industry-specific tools. Experience leading teams and managing projects successfully. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
