Avidity Science is looking for a dedicated HR Assistant to join our busy EMEA team. This is a unique opportunity to join our team as the first team member in addition to our existing Head of HR. To be successful, you will need demonstrable experience supporting a range of HR activities, including recruitment, maintaining robust employee records, onboarding, handling initial employee and manager queries and ideally payroll. In exchange, you'll have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of activities, get exposure to French, German and Slovakian employment legislation and have the chance to work on global employee projects. Flexible: This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working, with 3 days a week in the office typically expected Your Role: As an HR Assistant, you will: Support all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests. Maintain employee records and databases. Assist in managing employee rewards and benefits. Support the recruitment process, including advertising positions, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews. Aid managers in handling employee relations issues including grievances and disciplinaries. Support the onboarding process for new hires. Assist in the creation and improvement of HR policies and procedures. Support employee engagement and social/wellbeing initiatives. Assist with payroll preparation. Support off-boarding procedures, including exit interviews. Contribute to company communications and coordination of the company vehicle fleet. Support other regional and global HR projects and initiatives. What We’re Looking For: Experience in all aspects of the employee lifecycle. A collaborative ethic, self-motivation, and a positive can-do attitude. Willingness to roll-up your sleeves and "get your hands dirty". We are a lean team and we will occasionally get involved in non-HR activities. CIPD qualifications and/or HR-related degree is an advantage but not essential. Ability to handle matters assertively and confidentially. Strong IT skills and adaptability to multiple systems. An interest in technology to drive HR forward is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in French and/or German and experience in processing payroll is a distinct advantage.
