This design leader has busy days: talking at design events, travelling, presenting and spending lots of time with global clients. You get to make sure she has exactly what she needs and is where she needs to be to do it. Day to day you get to sharpen your diary, PA and admin skills until you seem like you read minds.
You like being a reliable gatekeeper and conduit of knowledge within the team. The meaningful part in your day to day is making sure that the director and her designers are all in touch, up to date and on track to deliver beautiful work. You will not be project managing design projects but you will be making sure all project admin is tidy and up to date. Your director likes detail and being close to her team and you enjoy supporting her in that.
Even though this is an early career role, you have already developed an ability to read a room, listen in a team, see what is necessary and make it happen. Your next role may be as an EA, project or account manager and this gives you a great chance to sharpen some skills and get a really good agency name on your CV.
