Work Pattern: Permanent, Part Time, 22.2 hours per week (22 hours and 12 minutes)

Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The core function of the NMAHP Directorate is to support the education, training and continuous professional development of nurses, midwives, allied health professions, health and social care chaplains and their support workers. It supports the delivery of NES’s strategic plan and works in response to commissions from the Scottish Government, Territorial and National Boards and a range of stakeholders to develop Workforce Education.
The Women, Children, Young People and Families (WCYPF) programme sits within the NMAHP Directorate and works collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners.
Scottish Multiprofessional Maternity Development Programme (SMMDP) sits within the WCYPF team and is a unique programme with a primary focus on maternity and neonatal education across Scotland. The programme provides a ‘Once for Scotland’ approach and acknowledges the need to provide access to training in remote and rural areas. As a valued member of our team, you will support our partnerships and the delivery of a suite of education programmes with high quality accessible resources to maternity and neonatal professionals in Scotland.

What We Love to See
Practice Educators offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
• A registered nurse and/or midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
• Experience within an education teaching or facilitation role.
• Contemporary clinical experience in neonatal care.
• Commitment to multi-professional approaches to education
• Ability to collaborate effectively and flexibly and to build networks across organisational boundaries
• Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex information and language simple for a diverse range of stakeholders
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
• Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
