The Emergency Department Receptionist role contributes to the provision of health care to patients and relatives by providing a comprehensive and confidential clerical and receptionist support for emergency attendances and admissions. As part of a 24 hour service, the role supports patients in experiencing a smooth journey through adhering to the appropriate systems, policies, procedures, and processes in the department.
Main Duties of the Job
As this is a 24 hour service, the post holder will be required to cover day, evening, night, and weekend shifts as part of the rota.
The main duties include:
1. Providing a full reception service to patients, visitors, and staff
2. Ensuring all patients are booked, transferred, admitted, and discharged correctly throughout their journey in the Emergency Department
3. Inputting and extracting data from WPAS
4. Undertaking full clerical duties
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
1. Good standard of education
2. NVQ III or equivalent level of knowledge
3. ECDL
Experience
1. Able to work using own initiative and as part of a team
2. Previous experience in a customer care / admin and clerical role
3. Previous NHS experience
Skills
1. Good interpersonal and communication skills
2. Excellent customer care skills
3. Ability to work under pressure
4. Experience of WPAS or other patient information systems
Knowledge
1. Good understanding of administrative processes
2. Knowledge of patient information systems
3. Understanding of Microsoft Office software packages
4. Awareness of vulnerable adult and children policies
5. Awareness of incident reporting process

Salary: £24,433 to £26,060 per annum pro rata
