Due to growth and our success, we are now looking to recruit an additional Site Surveyor to join our team and that is where you come in The role is an exciting one as it is a mix of site surveying and project management, from the design phase right the way through to delivery. The Role The role involves surveying construction projects around the UK, and successfully project managing them. This is achieved by attending construction sites to undertake surveys and produce quotations / drawings of the required products. Managing the project lead time to ensure customers receive the quotation and supporting documentation within specified deadlines. You will understand the content, design requirements and scope of works for projects undertaken from enquiries, tender documentation, and surveys. You will extract all the information necessary to successfully design the project within the required time frame, from these documents. You will be required to work both within our offices, based in Kidderminster and on client sites, which could be based anywhere in the UK. Key Responsibilities: Develop the concept design set out in the project documentation (e.g. Specifications, Architects’ and Structural Engineer’s Drawings) into a fully coordinated, spatially correct, robust, buildable (no risk installation), cost effective, system compliant and system specific design. Raise, monitor, and pursue requests for information in a timely manner, should clarification of any aspect of the design or additional information be required from the Client’s Team or other parties, to allow the design to progress. Communicating to the relevant parties (e.g. Project Manager and Design Team Leader) at the earliest opportunity any design delays, complications, factors affecting progress, the meeting of programme and design dates and generally any matter that is likely to affect, the completion of the design of the project. Identify and overcome any design problems and general project constraints in a proactive, economic, informed manner, taking into account cost, quality and programme considerations. Using internal software and on-site knowledge, you will be responsible for raising quotations and managing the costs of projects and orders based on customer requirements. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s product range and manufacturing capabilities to enable accurate quotation of customer design requirements. Build and develop relationships with customers, architects, stakeholders and senior executives. Assess the commercial, quality, design, and production risks of each project. Elevating any concerns to the Commercial manger. Ensuring that the specification of the customer requirements is within the production capacity and capabilities of the company. Challenging customer misinformation and ambiguous specifications. The preparation and presentation of clear, accurate quotations / sales order documentation to internal departments, that ensures the correct quality, quantity and specification required. Liaison with customers regarding project delays, site difficulties & project constraints, ensuring that component production is aligned with customer expectations. Liaising internally to ensure progress with production/design/purchasing, to ensure timely and successful delivery of orders according to customer requirements. Ensure customer records, enquiries, orders and all client information is stored effectively with clear access to all authorised users, using our inhouse system. Attend sales and marketing meetings, offering input and feedback of current trends. About You People who are innovative, driven, and adaptable are at the heart of our success. Qualifications / Experience Required Ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels, including site managers, purchasers, architects, and internal management. Basic AutoCAD software desired but not essential, MS Office (MS Excel essential). Ability to read from technical drawings. Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining a sharp attention to detail. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities. Ability to risk assess construction sites for safe access. Current driving license, as the role involves travelling to customer premises. You must be comfortable working at height.
