Our client is an international provider of line, light, and base maintenance services, delivering 24-hour comprehensive support to commercial aircraft operators. The fully customised services include AOG support, workshop facilities, aircraft modification programs, 147 Technical Training, Aircraft Fuel Tank Repair, tooling hire, and a UKAS-approved tooling and equipment calibration laboratory.
The Planning Engineer shall generate and control aircraft maintenance work packages, ensuring regulatory compliance at all times.
The role is based in an office environment within the Base at Prestwick International Airport. The normal working week is currently Monday to Thursday 0800-1700 and Friday 0800-1430. There may be occasions due to operational reasons where it is necessary to work outside of these hours and there may be a requirement to go onto a shift pattern.
To be considered for the role of Planning Engineer, it is important that you have the following:
1. 2 years working in aircraft maintenance, production planning, or airline environment.
2. Experience in MRO IT software, such as AMOS, OASES, Rusada, etc. (preferred but not essential).
3. Consideration will be given to candidates requiring training.
4. Right to work in the UK/EU.
Planning Engineer - Job Accountabilities:
1. To generate and issue comprehensive maintenance packages of work for production staff in accordance with the relevant regulatory airworthiness requirements and departmental procedures.
2. To provide costings assistance to sales for hours review.
3. To create and maintain master work cards/databases where required for specific projects, identify sub-contract requirements, spares, and tooling.
4. Liaise with internal departments as deemed necessary to provide clear and concise work instructions.
5. To assist the Engineering Support Manager with the daily operation of the planning department and support the day-to-day production operation.
6. Have commercial awareness of the impact that decisions can have on the customer and the business as a whole.
7. Flexibility and adaptability towards rapidly changing situations.
8. Ability to work under pressure to react to operational requirements and time constraints.
9. Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work.
10. Liaise with Safety and Compliance to ensure compliance with procedures and audits.
11. Assisting with the promotion of compliance and safety issues within the company (training will be provided).
Planning Engineer - Training & Knowledge:
1. Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation.
2. Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Planning (preferred but not essential).
3. High standard of English language (written and oral).
4. High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
