The Role:
The successful Key Stage 1 Teacher will take full responsibility for teaching a KS1 class, contributing to the development and delivery of the curriculum, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. The role offers the chance to make a real impact on young learners' lives while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all pupils.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure pupils’ success and well-being.
Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development.
The ideal Key Stage 1 Teacher will demonstrate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
Proven experience teaching Key Stage 1, with a solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in young children.
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to both teaching and teamwork.
An understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ability to support pupils with diverse needs.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school’s ethos and community.
Desirable:
Experience with phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc. or similar.
Previous experience in an Ofsted-rated Good or Outstanding school.
An interest in contributing to extra-curricular activities.
