Position Summary
The Assistant Division Controller is responsible for the functional aspects of the monthly financial close, reconciliation process, and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. This role is also involved in business analysis and projects designed to enhance the profitability of the business units.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assists the Division Controller with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
2. Prepares financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP principles and Sarbanes-Oxley.
3. Completes budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes and ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
4. Administers internal controls and audits of policies and procedures meant to preserve the division’s assets.
5. Reports on results of operations and maintains compliance with company policies and procedures.
6. Interacts with persons in all areas of the business including marketing, operations, sales, maintenance, safety, and administration.
7. Assists in administering the daily accounting functions at various operating locations.
8. Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services, and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or 6 years of relevant experience, including 3 years of accounting experience. A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment is essential, and the candidate must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, the ability to work independently, and contribute to broader team objectives are necessary. Strong financial and analytical skills, along with effective organizational and time management skills, are expected.
