The Future System Programme (FSP) is the name given to describe the work being undertaken to design, build and implement a replacement for the existing West Suffolk Hospital.
This FSP is part of the national New Hospital Programme (NHP) which is tasked with building 47 new hospitals. The Workforce Transformation Lead holds a crucial role within the FSP, developing and delivering on those aspects of the new hospital project that relate to our people.
In essence, the purpose of this role is to ensure the potential benefits associated with a brand new hospital reflect the critical role of our people whilst being fully realised.
The post holder will work proactively with the project team, workforce team and wider operational staff, to support the timely delivery of the changes to the way we work that underpin the clinical and operational models of the new hospital and its associated system partners. Providing leadership, expert advice and guidance, they will lead the development and delivery of workforce plans to ensure a smooth transition between current practice and new ways of working and the transition to the new build.
The postholder will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing existing talent and resource management strategies and organisational effectiveness initiatives to ensure the new hospital is effective and that its stated benefits are truly realised.
Key Areas of Focus
There will be a focus on transformational and effective change management, ensuring this is both inclusive and engaging; the development of new roles and ways of working to ensure both quality and efficiency improvements. The role will be responsible for Workforce Transformation as part of the FSP, working closely with the senior People and OD Team and the Business Partner team.

Lead on the production of a Trust wide workforce plan for the new hospital, working collaboratively with ICB, local leaders and wider health and social care partners, ensuring the approach is coordinated and strategic.
To act as the project lead, representing the needs and potential of our workforce - ensuring that physical designs, operational/clinical processes and associated benefits are cognisant of our workforce and deliverable.
