Location: Luton (1 day per week onsite) Duration: 12 month contract Rate: £61ph UMB (Inside IR35) Role details: Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a Lead Configuration Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities: You will lead the following 5 key Configuration Management activities across project lifecycles: Change Control: Lead the Change Control process, from change initiation to implementation. Configuration Status Accounting: Provide accurate configuration status reports and maintain configuration baselines. Configuration Baselines: Establish and manage configuration baselines for product design and certification. Configuration Management Planning: Develop and manage the Configuration Management Plan, interpreting customer requirements. Configuration Audits: Support the Configuration Lead in validating and auditing configuration artefacts (Functional and Physical Configuration Audits). Additional Responsibilities: Ensure effective Configuration and Data Management across various stages of projects. Challenge processes and tailor them to fit the project's lifecycle phase. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the project dataset is maintained and controlled. Build and manage customer and supplier relationships. Promote the use of PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP) and engineering tools. Skills & Qualifications: Experience with the 5 key Configuration Management activities (Change Control, Status Accounting, Baselines, Planning, and Audits). Good understanding of Configuration Management standards (DEF STAN 05-57). Practical experience in Change Management, Configuration Baselines, and Configuration Audits. Knowledge of Product Management Tools (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP) is a plus. Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
