Admiral Money is expanding, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join the team. The role involves taking the lead on credit risk and pricing analytics for our motor lending product. This role will be responsible for building credit risk and pricing models, monitoring actual portfolio performance relative to modelled expectations, and refining the credit strategy.

Prior experience in consumer lending within a credit risk function is essential. The role involves managing decision strategies and leading initiatives while maintaining a hands-on approach.
The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set, including strong quantitative and analytical skills; proficiency with SQL for data extraction; Python and Excel for data analysis and modelling; and experience in building credit risk scorecards.
This role offers the possibility of full remote work with occasional visits to the Cardiff office. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and implement decisioning rulesets and policies, including actionable proposals and implementation plans.
2. Monitor the risk/reward profile of the portfolio using IRR/NPV models, and review and adjust acquisition strategies accordingly.
3. Segment the portfolio based on risk variables to identify trends, concentrations, and emerging risks.
4. Improve the affordability process, including enhancements to the net disposable income model.
5. Analyze retro data to inform lending strategies, identify predictive features, and set risk grade bandings.
6. Create comprehensive views of credit rules at the product level to identify issues and opportunities.
7. Generate key management reports to support strategic decisions and ensure risk appetite is maintained.
8. Enhance credit risk strategies to optimize outcomes for customers.
9. Apply commercial judgment to interpret results and produce actionable recommendations for risk management.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* Advanced financial modelling skills, including building and evaluating scorecards.
* Experience in creating detailed reports to analyze portfolio performance.
* Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
* Experience with Python (Pandas, Sci-Kit Learn, NumPy) or similar for data analysis and modelling.
* Prior experience in consumer credit risk, particularly in motor lending, is highly desirable.
* High-quality written communication skills.
* Experience presenting analysis results to diverse audiences.
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus.
