Job Title: Stores Operative with FLT Licence
Location: Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire
Duration: 3 Months
Days: Mon to Thurs, 8am-4.30pm, Fri 8am-1pm
Note: Own transport is recommended due to location.
Our Barton-under-Needwood based client is looking for an experienced Stores Operative for a temporary contract.
The role entails dealing with products that come into stores. Daily tasks include checking for damaged or missing parts, moving stock around by hand or using a forklift truck, selecting orders, and keeping paperwork up to date on the computerised system Oracle. Booking goods in/out and dispatching parts to customers are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
Must have: valid FLT Licence and be computer literate.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Accurately report stock records in respect of quantity and location.
* Safely and correctly locate stock according to requirements.
* Efficiently carry out stock movements/processing transactions both physically and within MRP.
* Maintain and monitor inventory accuracy, escalating discrepancies at the bin location level.
* Audit inventory in line with company policy, including cyclic audits.
* Issue stock to Assembly as required through line feeding and request response.
* Quickly receive and locate products accurately.
* Perform visual checks and counts of goods to ensure documentation accuracy.
* Ensure goods are shipped to customers on the required date.
* Despatch goods in line with company and customer policies and procedures, ensuring all items are correctly labelled.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times.
* Control customer assets (both dirty and overhauled) via documentation, physically, and systematically.
* Load and off-load vehicles.
* Provide parts delivery service to all departments.
* Use lifting and handling equipment as appropriate.
* Check items by hand count and weigh count.
* Pick and kit stock to order.
* Liaise with suppliers and/or their representatives on documentation as necessary.

* Liaise with internal departments as required.
* Team player, as the warehouse is small and all need to work together.
* Problem-solving ability.
* Ability to prioritise and plan own workload; able to work under own initiative.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication skills.
* Work with minimum supervision; self-motivated.
Qualifications/Education required:
* Experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
* Computer literate.
* Hold a valid current UK driving licence.
* Possess a qualified counter-balance truck driver certificate.
* GCSE standard numeracy and literacy.
* Good communication skills.
