An exciting opportunity has arisen within Aneurin Bevan University Health Boards Primary Care team. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Contract Manager to join our Contracting Team, on full time, permanent basis.
As a Contract Manager, you will provide support to the Service Development Manager with the delivery, contract management and long-term strategic planning of General Medical Services across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, also supporting the agenda for General Dental Service and Optometry Services.
The post holder will have a sound knowledge of primary care. You must have the capability to function well as part of a team and be able to work independently. You must have excellent interpersonal skills that will facilitate a flexible approach to problem solving.
Main duties of the job
This is a key role within the Primary Care Contracting team, with responsibility for supporting a wide-ranging agenda through the delivery of patient-centred, safe, effective primary healthcare services across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
The post holder will take a key role in supporting the Service Development Manager with the delivery, contract management and long-term strategic planning of General Medical across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
As such they will be responsible for collaborating and negotiating with contractors, service providers and professional committees to identify and achieve service development and improvement, evaluating through performance management and lead the production and delivery of specific plans and projects to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* Educated to degree level or relevant experience.
* Post graduate diploma or management qualification and/or equivalent experience in the primary care area.
* Must demonstrate commitment to learning and continuous development.
* Knowledge and understanding of Primary Care contracts and how they are applied.
* Knowledge of information and budgetary management.
* Knowledge of Project Management principles and implementation of associated action plans.
* Strong understanding of government policy in relation to health and social care.
Experience
