The Role:
At our hotel, we're seeking a team passionate about Cumbria and local food and drink producers, eager to be part of this county’s vibrant lifestyle. As a team member, you'll work alongside others who prioritize our guests and support each other.
As the Breakfast Chef at Another Place the Lake, you’ll bring culinary passion, creativity, and attention to detail to the Rampsbeck restaurant. You will collaborate with the head chef to oversee operations and ensure food quality, inspiring and guiding the kitchen team for harmony and efficiency.
Typical Daily Tasks:
* Ensure preparation, cooking, and service of breakfast items meet standards
* Carry out mis en place for breakfast service, including preparing bacon, sausages, tomatoes, etc.
* Prepare, cook, and serve various egg dishes, porridge, and other required items
* Slice cold meats, cut fruits, and prepare cold buffet items, maintaining freshness
* Prepare and serve menu items daily, monitoring quantities and presentation
* Prepare kids' buffet according to numbers, ensuring a balanced menu
* Follow supervisor’s instructions and prepare for the day’s business based on projections
* Maintain schedules, check sheets, and temperature logs
* Ensure smooth kitchen operations and back-of-house management
* Handle food preparation, storage, service, and related tasks responsibly
* Keep the workspace organized, clean, and safe for all staff
* Record waste accurately, completing wastage sheets for all disposals
* Work flexibly with hours and shift patterns
* Show interest and passion for the food industry
* Hold NVQ Level 1 & 2 or equivalent as a minimum
* Be a team player, guest-focused, responsible, eager to learn, and professionally presented
