So what do our Process Technicians actually do?
Reporting to the Process Team Leader, you will be responsible for the quality and technical areas in the process area to produce the highest quality milk products in a reliable and cost-effective way. You will be in charge of all unit operations connected to the efficient running of milk reception and milk/cream processing.
This is a key role within the team where you will ensure the quality of raw and finished products meet the required standards, adhering to relevant legal requirements in a responsible manner that links into the Arla Foods Business Strategy.
You will be responsible for;
* To Operate Scada systems for the operation of milk intake, milk processing, Cream export and Cleaning in progress (CIP)
* All Laboratory testing linking to the passing and releasing of raw and finished products.
* To achieve departmental KPI targets i.e. Safety, Quality, efficiency, wastage, cost etc
* To be flexible and follow agreed roster patterns to meet business needs
* To monitor equipment performance, carry out basic problem solving tasks, resolves minor breakdowns and raise issues before they become problems
* Maintain strict quality, food hygiene, and health & safety standards in the department.
* To follow departmental instructions, procedures, maintain records, SAP inputs
* To contribute and seek continuous improvements to achieve departmental KPI`s
* Actively promote communication links and good working relationships with fellow team members, drivers, hauliers and other relevant departments
* Contribute to investigation of non-conformances, team reporting and decision making process
* Always strive to achieve a reduction in wastage, be it product, utilities, consumables or any other elements
What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role?
You must be able to work a rotating shift pattern that will include days, nights and some weekends. You must be able to work on your own initiative, have strong team working skills and a flexible attitude to work. Previous experience within the dairy industry or chilled food manufacturing would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. We are looking for someone who can work independently and who has a willingness to take responsibility and makes decisions. Experience of working in a food production environment and knowledge of H & S and Food Hygiene standards would be an advantage. We are also seeking the following:
* Educated to GCSE or equivalent level in Math’s and English.
* PC skills with good knowledge of Excel and understanding of SAP system.
* Enthusiasm for change, actively contribute to improve, flexibility and ability to work as a team.
* Willingness to learn different skills, multi-skilling to fill gaps in other areas i.e. Processing/ Production/ Intake
* Reliability and good timekeeping
* Good PC skills and understanding of SAP system
