Salary: Leadership Scale L1-L5 (£49,781 - £54,939, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only

About the SEN School:
This SEN school is a specialist school dedicated to empowering young people with SEN and Autism, helping them realise their potential and build resilience. They are seeking an Assistant Head Teacher to lead our Upper School (KS3 & KS4) and drive academic, social, and emotional success for our students.
Your Role:
As Assistant Head Teacher, you will lead and inspire the KS3 & KS4 team, fostering a strong, supportive, and cohesive environment. You will model and promote best practices in SEN and Autism education, supporting staff development and expertise. The role requires driving continuous improvement, ensuring high teaching standards through lesson observations, learning walks, planning reviews, and data analysis.
You will also be responsible for developing curriculum and accreditation pathways, supporting student progression, transitions, and post-16 pathways. Creating a positive and nurturing environment for both staff and students is key to the role, alongside working closely with parents, carers, clinical teams, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students.
What The SEN School Are Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience working with students with SEN and Autism
* Previous leadership experience or a strong track record of leading a department or key area of responsibility
* A passion for school improvement, with knowledge of education review strategies and development plans
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff
* Organised, solution-focused, and able to work well under pressure
* An understanding of Ofsted inspections and Independent School Standards (or a willingness to learn)
