Based on site with one of BakerHicks' key clients in the Life Science sector, we are seeking an experienced Lead Planner to oversee and lead the planning and scheduling activities for a significant EPCM project that is in the early stages of construction in Ayrshire, Scotland.
You will lead a team of planners in:
* Building and maintaining project schedules and
* Coordinating with project teams, and optimising resource utilisation to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role will be significantly client-facing.
Responsibilities
* Project Planning and Scheduling - Develop and maintain project schedules, incorporating all relevant activities, milestones, and dependencies.
* Resource Allocation and Optimisation - Coordinate with project teams to allocate resources effectively and ensure optimal utilisation of manpower, equipment, and materials.
* Schedule Monitoring and Control - Monitor project progress against established schedules, tracking actual performance and comparing it to planned timelines.
* Risk Management and Contingency Planning - Anticipate and assess schedule risks and uncertainties, identifying potential threats to project timelines and developing mitigation strategies.
* Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration - Serve as the primary point of contact for all project planning and scheduling-related communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or similar/equivalent in engineering or related field.
* Extensive demonstrable experience in project planning, scheduling, or project management, with a focus on EPCM projects - preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
* Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software/tools (, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in project planning and scheduling.
