A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated team at our client’s practice in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. This friendly and experienced team caters to a diverse range of animals, including small pets, horses, farm animals, and exotic pets, providing exceptional veterinary care both in the clinic and in the field.
As a member of this skilled veterinary team, your responsibilities will include caring for large animals—such as dairy, beef, and sheep—as well as small animal and some equine cases. The practice has been serving the local community since before World War I and has established a reputation for outstanding, compassionate veterinary services available 24/7.
Northallerton itself is a beautiful market town nestled in the stunning North Yorkshire countryside, perfectly positioned between the scenic Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. It offers a wealth of outdoor activities and excellent rail connections to York and Newcastle.
This position is available as a full-time role, with a 4-day workweek from 8 am to 6 pm, and requires being on call one weeknight every four weeks (Friday 5 pm to Monday 8 am). If you prefer part-time hours, we encourage you to discuss flexible options.

Completing clinical handovers for any patients needing after-hours care
Actively sharing and implementing clinical best practices across the team
Your Skills and Experience
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
Proven experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Strong clinical leadership skills
Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture
Knowledge of supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues for optimal performance
